The Options Process - an overview
In Year 9, students will be asked to make some decisions about the subjects they study from Year 10 onwards. Students will get support throughout this process and parents will also be kept informed so they can support this decision-making.
The subjects and qualifications students study over Years 10 and 11 will affect how they spend their time during the next two years at school. These choices could also affect future career and educational plans, so it is worth taking some time to get it right.
An options booklet is issued to all Year 9 students in the Spring term. It gives information about the courses on offer at Meadowhead and explains the process and key dates.
Students and parents will be invited to an information session explaining what happens next, providing further information about subjects on offer and advice on how choices might affect future plans.
During the Spring term, each Y9 student will have a 10 minute interview with a senior member of staff to discuss their option choices for Years 10 -11.
