MEADOWHEAD SCHOOL ACADEMY TRUST

Dyche Lane, Sheffield, S8 8BR

Mixed 11-18    1,927 students

Headteacher: Mrs Kam Grewal-Joy

Meadowhead School Academy is a popular and successful school with an excellent academic and pastoral reputation and very high standards of behaviour.

We have high expectations of ourselves and our students and welcome colleagues who share our commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Meadowhead School moved into new purpose built accommodation in 2007.  We became a Trust school in 2009, setting up the Meadowhead Community Learning Trust (MCLT) in partnership with six feeder primary schools, Sheffield College, Sheffield University, Sheffield Hallam University and a number of local and national businesses.  In August 2012, the school became a converter Academy, and gained full Sixth Form status in September 2013.

  • We house our own Sixth Form currently teaching A level courses and level 3 courses to over 292 students.  We opened our new purpose built Sixth Form Centre in November 2017.

It is our intention to create and maintain the kind of atmosphere in which young people will feel secure enough to develop their abilities, happy enough to take on new challenges and sufficiently stimulated to achieve their full potential.  That working atmosphere is built upon high standards and expectations.  We work in partnership with others to equip young people with the skills, attitudes and qualifications needed to secure successful careers and to become responsible adults in the future.

Every individual has potential and is, therefore, capable of achievement. It is the school’s task to present the fullest possible range of opportunities so that each individual may discover just where their talents lie. It is inevitable, therefore, that the school opens those opportunities to all and makes no assumptions based on gender, nationality, race, ability, disability or creed.
