Trust Projects
Trust partners work together on agreed projects each academic year with the core aims of:
- Improving literacy & numeracy skills of learners aged 3-19
- Closing the gap – raising aspirations and ambitions of all learners to help raise attainment
- Working in collaboration with business & other education partners to improve & enrich the education of all learners
Examples of how many partners have been involved since the trust was established in September 2009:
- Mock interviews, World of work week exhibitions, offering work experience/enrichment internship placements for sixth formers
- Support for our students with job applications/Apprenticeships at their place of work (& advertising them to our students first!)
- Assembly speakers for certain themes
- Careers talks after school about their industry/job & company tours for small groups
- Acting as Judges/special guests for events – Fashion show, Everyone a writer, Meadowhead Bake-off, family engagement workshops
- Setting challenges/competitions for certain groups of students in certain subjects
- ‘Aspirations week’ class talks at primary schools
- Support for STEM club/science week talks
- Sponsoring prizes for specific projects they wish to support (although we don’t usually ask them for money)
- Hosting Trust meetings and other project events –e.g SUFC venue for previous Honda School of dreams project
