Meadowhead Community Learning Trust
The Meadowhead Community Learning Trust was established in September 2009 and one of its first achievements enabled us to develop a very successful partnership with Norton College to provide A-Level courses until its closure in summer 2015. We now have over 240 students studying Sixth Form qualifications on the Meadowhead Site, following our successful conversion to an official 11-18 school by the DfE in September 2013, and our rapid expansion to meet local demand for Further Education course provision. We are now enjoying improved facilities with the construction of a new purpose built Sixth Form Centre which opened in November 2017.
Over the past 11 years, the Trust has gone from strength to strength, growing its membership from just 5 to 26 business and education partners, who work collaboratively each year on innovative projects to enrich and improve the education experiences of all its 4000 learners aged 3-19.
Details of three very successful annual projects, ‘The Journalistic Challenge’, ‘The Trust Choral concert’, and ‘Everyone a Writer’ as well as many other Trust initiatives can be accessed from the link at the top right hand menu on this page.
We are now looking forward to developing more exciting projects like this in the future to improve literacy and numeracy skills of our learners, work related learning opportunities, and routes into Higher Education and employment through our Trust business partners.
If you would like further information or to discuss the process to apply to join our Trust, please contact our Trust Manager, Maddie Udall in the first instance by emailing udallm@meadowhead.sheffield.sch.uk.

“The Trust aims to strengthen more of its partnerships to deliver a more effective education system in this community. Schools and business’ are already working closely together for the benefit of students, and new initiatives are being explored and implemented to provide exciting ways of improving long term provision.”
“In April 2010 the Trust gained Charitable Status and has since worked hard to implement its Trust Improvement Plan and expand the business partner membership to achieve its aims. The plan sets out an ambitious target for providing additional long term resources to enrich the education of students. Some students in the community come from areas of significant social deprivation and it is an essential part of the Trust's work that we help to create positive outcomes for all.”
