Duke of Edinburgh Award

Here at Meadowhead School, we are delighted to be a Directly Licensed Centre for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

We are currently running the Bronze level Duke of Edinburgh scheme with our Year 10 and Year 12 students, and will be sending out information in September for next year’s scheme 2024-25, which will be open to our students in Year 10.

“Being asked to take on the role of patron after my father is a particular honour and quite a responsibility. Sustaining and enhancing what is arguably his greatest legacy around the world matters a great deal to me, as does pursuing the award's long-term ambition of universal access so that every eligible young person has the opportunity to participate.”
Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh.

 Expedition groups

Expedition groups are now being formed. These will be the groups for both the practice and qualifying expeditions. Sadly, we cannot fully confirm these as final groupings.

If any students drop out, groups may need to be changed to ensure we are not running groups below the minimum numbers. If this does happen, we will work to ensure all students are still in a group with others they know.

Both expedition weekends and the in-school training day are run by BXM Outdoors. Please visit the parent information section on their website for lots of useful information, including full kit list information and food advice:
