About the DofE Award
The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award consists of 4 sections:
- Volunteering
- Physical

Skills These should be completed over timescales of 3 to 6 months

Expedition (working in groups of 4 – 7 people)
The Expedition
The expedition consists of two weekend trips:
- the practice - 2 days walking and 1 night camping
- the qualifier - 2 days walking and 1 night camping
The Bronze Award is achieved when all sections have been completed, which takes about a year.
To take part in the Meadowhead Duke of Edinburgh Bronze you should:
- be at least 14yrs
- enrol & register with the DofE (this is done through school, please note a fee is required)
- attend all weekly training sessions (to equip you with the essential skills for expedition)
- commit to completing all sections.
To take on the challenge requires a great deal of commitment but is really well worth the effort! It is a prestigious award and widely recognised by universities and employers.
