Section B of English Literature Paper 2

You are given one poem from the AQA ‘Power and Conflict’ anthology and must compare this to another from memory. For this assessment, the given poem will be one of the seven war poems that have been studied in class. You must consider the big ideas in the poems you select, referencing key context, writers’ methods and their effects.

1 hour to answer 1 question; 30 marks available.

An assessment covering topics studied since the beginning of Y10 plus KS3 content. Calculator allowed. A revision list will be shared with students and parents before the assessment.

A combination of short answer questions, including multiple choice, closed and open questions, testing knowledge and understanding. These will test student’s knowledge, understanding and geographical skills (graph/map/photograph/numeracy).

The paper will also include longer open response questions, including 4, 6 and one 9-mark question, designed to assess student’s knowledge, understanding and ability to apply knowledge and understanding to resources or to make a judgement. 

Topics will be Medieval Medicine (1750-1900) and Renaissance Medicine (1900-present). There will be 20 knowledge questions, a 4 Mark similarity/ difference question and a 12 mark ‘Explain why’ question

One 30-minute GCSE style assessment covering; Theme A: Relationships & families.

Students will complete 5 questions including multiple choice, knowledge recall and an evaluative essay question.

You will respond to a statement which will ask you to structure your response as either a letter, article, speech, essay or leaflet. 

45 mins to answer 1 question; 40 marks available.

Topics will be Industrial Medicine (1750-1900) and Modern Medicine (1900-present). There will be 20 knowledge questions and an extended 20-mark exam answer - 'Statement' How far do you agree? (16 marks + 4 SPAG)
