Y9 vs King Edwards

In the last match of the season for the Meadowhead Y9s, Mr Allen played a relatively new team to the one which was defeated by Ecclesfield in the South Yorkshire Cup a week ago. Their opponents were King Edwards; a  strong team with some very good players so Meadowhead knew it was going to be tough.

The match ended 3-3 in the end with both teams having been in the lead and King Edwards scoring a last minute free-kick to take away victory from Meadowhead. The goalscorers for Meadowhead were Ehsan Mohammed, who curled a great strike into the corner from a tight angle, and debutant Mbongeni Ngenwa, with two well-taken close range efforts to secure his brace.

Although it wasn’t the win we were looking for, it has been another great season from everyone who has represented the Y9 team. They’ve shown commitment, desire, skill and, all in all, have represented the school magnificently. Also, a big thank you to Mr Allen for all of his support, time and effort. We couldn’t have achieved as much as we did this season without him.
