League Match Y10 vs All Saints

Meadowhead wanted revenge for the defeat to All Saints in the Sheffield Cup Final last year as they faced their rivals in the league for the first encounter this season. Despite a positive start, Meadowhead fell 1-0 down after a well-worked goal but this only spurred Meadowhead on.

After creating a handful of great chances and having a blatant penalty turned down by the football and boot dodgy referee (Mr Allen!), Meadowhead finally levelled the score near the end of the first half through a strong header from Jack Morton. Then on the stroke of half time, Ehsan Mohammed’s free kick sailed into the top corner from 40 yards out to give Meadowhead a deserved 2-1 lead at half time.

Meadowhead continued to pile on the pressure in the second half as Jack Morton bagged another goal with a right-footed strike from the edge of the box and they looked in cruise control - until a goal line scrap enabled All Saints to pull a goal back and then the visitors burst away on the break moments after to make the score 3-3 with ten minutes remaining.

It looked like the match would settle for a draw until Louis Hutchinson found himself with time in the penalty area to pick a perfect pass for Jack Morton to seal victory for Meadowhead with a thumping strike into the roof of the net from close range and score his first ever Meadowhead hat-trick.
