Sheffield Cup R1 Y10 vs High Storrs

In their third match of the season, Meadowhead’s year 10s faced their toughest opponents so far this season in the form of High Storrs school, away in the first round of the Sheffield Cup. The first half was a closely contested affair, consisting of very few chances until Aaron Mushet played a through ball, cutting through the heart of opposition defence, causing the defender to turn the ball into his own net.

In the second half,  Meadowhead changed from the 4-4-2 formation and into a 4-3-3 and began to create lots of chances, especially after the introduction of Ehsan Mohammed, who was doubtful before the match but decided to turn up at the last minute. Meadowhead began to dominate the game, and the chance of a High Storrs comeback began to get slimmer. However, despite all of the chances created, the score remained 1-0 until the last minute when Harry Grimmer was fouled to earn a penalty, which he dispatched confidently into the bottom right corner, ensuring Meadowhead would not be missing out of the second round of the Sheffield Cup.
