Student survey gives Meadowhead Sixth Form its highest ever satisfaction rating!

In our annual Leavers’ Survey, the Y13 students who finished their exams this summer have given the Sixth Form its best ever satisfaction ratings.  We are especially proud of the Sixth Form’s work to help students overcome any barriers they face to academic success and so we were delighted that 95% of students rated the pastoral care they received as excellent or good.  Nearly 90% of students said they would recommend the Sixth Form to friends and family and the same percentage also rated the teaching and the facilities either a good or an excellent grade.

Students also wrote that:

  • “There has always been incredible guidance and support when needed, creating a comfortable and motivating environment to learn in. The staff encouraged and believed in me even when I did not believe in myself.”
  • “The pastoral team were always incredibly supportive and I felt I could go talk to them whenever I had an issue.”
  • “There are amazing teachers who always make time to assist you with school work or worries.”
  • “The teachers enjoy teaching and it makes a difference to the students.”

One respondent told us that one of the Sixth Form’s strength is that it “listens to student voice” and in their feedback, students have set us challenges to expand specialist revision sessions, improve support for applications that are not done through UCAS and to improve the functioning of the air conditioning. We are already working on responding to these suggestions!
