Meadowhead School falls silent for Remembrance Day

Staff and students stood in silence at 11am (normally a busy break- time) on Tuesday 11th November 2014 as part of the Armistice commemoration.

Assemblies this week have focused on very moving stories from the First World War and in art lessons students made poppies from wire and tissue, to create a display in response to the installation at the Tower of London “Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red”.

The day began quietly with Drop Everything and Read for the whole school – those who hadn’t brought a book could read extracts from WW1 stories on the interactive white board.
