History students visit Hampton Court

Y13 History students went for a visit to Hampton Court to help them develop their understanding of the Tudor period and government in preparation for their A Level exam on Tudor Rebellions.

Hampton Court was the favourite home of Henry VIII and was the site of many key events including the birth of Edward VI, death of Jane Seymour, arrest of Katherine Howard, marriage of Jane Seymour and Elizabeth I's smallpox illness.

Students enjoyed a tour of the building and then had a two-hour workshop with a historian in which they used a wide range of contemporary sources and the historic environment to investigate the Mid-Tudor crisis. The students were a credit to Meadowhead School and learnt a lot on their visit.
