Some of our Year 10 Food students took part in a Careers event with the Royal Navy Catering Services branch on Thursday 11th March.

Students were given a presentation explaining the career opportunities, service life, educational gains, sporting and social opportunities and a general oversight into a career in the Royal Navy.

Students were then divided into teams for a Master Chef style session where each team was required to follow a recipe with the aim of creating homemade meatballs with spaghetti and chocolate brownie within an allocated time frame. Teams then had to serve the dishes and once completed, present them to the Navy team. This activity proved a fun and enjoyable way to exercise student initiative, teamwork, communication and time keeping skills.
