Y12 Study Skills Trip to the University of Sheffield

Exploring the new exhibition on ‘Changing Lives: 200 Years of People and Protest in Sheffield’ at the Weston Park museum was a thought provoking part of the Y12’s trip out on Wednesday 28th February.

Students also had plenty of time to look at the permanent displays at the museum before braving a fierce blizzard to walk down to the University of Sheffield’s distinctive Diamond Building.  Sadly, due to the very cold and snowy conditions, we were unable to have the planned campus tour but our Sixth Formers were invited into one of the small lecture theatres for a presentation about life as a University student.  They also had an informative Study Skills session with material that will really help them now as well as preparation for higher education.

Thank you to the University staff who led our visit and to the current students who shared their experiences.
