Year Transitions and taster days - moving up to the next stage at school

On Monday 30th June, year 10 students had the opportunity to try out their post -16 pathway options.

Around 200 students chose to stay in school and try out A Level and L3 BTECs and 100 students went out to Sheffield College to try their vocational courses. Behaviour from all students was outstanding and the day has given them a chance to reflect on their future choices.

Record numbers of students attended our Y11 into 12 Transition event over two days (2nd/3rd July) for prospective sixth formers.  Students who have applied for Sixth Form met form tutors, had introductory lessons in the subjects they have chosen, and enjoyed our fantastic facilities.

Students had presentations from subject specialist form tutors about how to succeed in their chosen subjects, as well as learning about the routines and day-to-day life here at Meadowhead Sixth Form.

The event ended with ice lollies and rounders in the sun – a brilliant couple of days! Well done to all the students involved, and we look forward to hearing from you on results day and then seeing you in September.

On 9th 10th July we welcomed the whole Y6 cohort into school for their transition into Y7, meeting their form tutors and having taster lessons in all subjects.  It was a lovely, positive start to their time at Meadowhead.
