Meadowhead Sixth Form celebrates strong results from its largest-ever cohort

Meadowhead Sixth Form is celebrating another year of strong results, with the school’s largest-ever Sixth Form cohort achieving highly across a broad range of A level and Applied General subjects.
The cohort also included the highest ever number of students who joined Meadowhead in Year 12 from other secondary schools.
Across both A Level and BTEC courses, this cohort of students achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate across over 30 different subject areas and the school also saw an increase in the percentage A*-A / Distinction* grades. More than 60% of entries achieved A*–B or equivalent, while 85.6% achieved A*–C or equivalent.
The number of students achieving a B Grade / Merit or above was the highest on record, as was the number of A Level grades at A*-B which is a key measure for securing places at university.
Across the six BTEC subjects, the average grade was again a Distinction, and students achieved the highest average points score since the introduction of more rigorous applied courses.
The school is extremely pleased that the provisional value-added measure for Applied General qualifications which is currently projected to be 0.19, well above the national average.
The quality of the results across all courses is an incredible testament to the students’ talent, hard work and commitment, and how effectively this has combined with the support and expertise of Meadowhead’s teachers.
The success was spread across a range of courses and subjects. Over 70% of students on the Biology, Computer Studies, English Literature and History courses secured A*-B grades, with 75% of EPQ students and 80% of Further Maths students also achieving this standard. 100% of students on the Sports Diploma achieved at least a Distinction*-Distinction grade.


The school is hugely proud of the continued growth and success of Meadowhead Sixth Form, which provides an extensive range of academic and applied courses for students in South Sheffield and North Derbyshire.
