SILVER MEDALISTS!

The U13 Girls' cricket team were phenomenal on Friday!! They have done themselves, me and the school very proud - an excellent achievement.

They came 2nd in their group stages playing against; Ryburn Valley High School, Wolfreton School and MacMillan Academy.  The results were; a huge win against Ryburn Valley 111-68, a win against Wolfreton 105-72 and an unfortunate loss against MacMillan 37-48.

We earned a place in the semi-finals by coming 2nd in our group. We played against Ripon Grammar School, we were the batting team first, we got all 8 of their players out on 41 runs.  To win we needed just 42 runs.  We got to 42 runs on our 4th over, which won us the semi-finals game!!

It was then down to the finals, we played against Wakefield Girls High School.  It was neck and neck all the way through the game, we unfortunately lost out in the final over by 3 runs, the final score being 88-91.  We came 2nd in Yorkshire!!!

We are the U13 Girls - Yorkshire County Silver medalists! A fantastic result!

The girls were delighted to also meet Lauren Winfield, England and Yorkshire Cricketer - a great inspiration for them.
