Meadowhead Women’s Scholars 6–1 Calderdale College (League)

Meadowhead Women’s Scholars made it two wins from two in the league with a superb 6–1 home victory over Calderdale College, producing another dominant second-half display to seal all three points.

The first half was tightly contested, with both sides battling hard and creating chances, but Meadowhead’s quality began to shine through as the game progressed. After the break, the girls stepped up a gear — moving the ball confidently, pressing with intensity, and showing their attacking class to take full control of the match.

Goals came from all areas of the pitch, with Poppy, Evie E, Abi, and Evie O all finding the net in an outstanding team performance. Evie O’s clever movement and quick feet saw her grab a brilliant brace to round off a dominant attacking display.

Special credit goes to Lola and Poppy, who each played a half in goal to help out the team — both showing excellent composure and sweeping up confidently to keep Calderdale’s threats at bay.

⚽️ Goalscorers: Poppy, Evie E, Abi, Evie O (2)

🌟 Players of the Match:
• Alice: dominant in defence, winning every duel against a tough opponent and leading by example at the back.
• Lola: outstanding in the second half, winning every header and commanding the defensive line with authority.
• Evie O: clinical in attack, scoring twice with superb movement and phenomenal close control.

A brilliant all-round performance and another statement win for the team — two from two in the league and plenty of momentum building!

Y7 football victory in their first English Schools Football Campaign

  • The English Schools Football Campaign is now underway for our Year 7s, and what a way to start — with a 7–2 victory over Lady Manners! 🔥

It’s a continuation of the fine form the team have been showing, keeping the Phoenix flying high.

It is hard to pick out individual performances from such a strong team display, but one player stood out for his relentless energy both in and out of possession — and capped off his performance with two goals.
