Secondary Girls Football Leadership Day

At the beginning of May, a group of our female sports leaders took part in the Secondary Girls Football Leadership Day at the English Institute of Sport. Following this, we now have a trained group of Girls Football Ambassadors ready to take on leadership roles back at school.
Throughout the day, the students developed their skills by learning a range of drills and activities, before putting their knowledge into practice by planning their own football leadership sessions.
The students also looked at some of the barriers girls and women can face in taking part in sport and physical activity, while also recognising what motivates them to want to take part in their sport.
A key focus was on promoting sport and physical activity for all — and they did exactly that with enthusiasm and confidence.
We are incredibly proud of how the students conducted themselves; they showed fantastic teamwork, leadership, and positivity from start to finish.
A brilliant representation of Meadowhead!
