Futures Week 2026
Our careers focussed Futures Week 2026 was a great success and we are so proud of our students for taking hold of the opportunities presented to them. The theme this year has been the importance of ‘informed decision making’, through the lens of planning for the future.
In form time the students have been supported to explore the value of first impressions, ongoing self-reflection, how to develop resilience and considering their aspirations.
We were fortunate to host sessions with Barclays Bank for Y9 & Y10 classes - to explore what it is to be a young entrepreneur and to take those first steps in business. It was really interesting to hear the plans of some of our future business leaders.
We continue to work to tie careers and curriculum learning together to embed that sense of self-development and forward-thinking into every week of school life.
We are very proud of our young people and know that the future is safe hands with them.
Futures Week - Careers Fair
As part of Futures Week, our students enjoyed the careers fair on Tuesday 10th February, where we welcomed almost 40 guests from different sectors (law, engineering, finance, police, sports, universities), to talk to all students about what they do, jobs in their sector and what the future could hold for our young people.
Feedback about our students was excellent as always - the students were polite, curious and engaged.
Futures Week - Speed Networking
This year we piloted speed networking for our Y8 & Y9 students, with all students meeting a range of guests in sit-down conversations. This was great to increase their knowledge of what options the future holds, but also to further develop their social confidence and engaging with conversations in a business networking format.
We are really proud of all the students whose behaviour was immaculate – every single student was listening, asking questions and fully engaged.
