Trust Choir 2012

This years Trust choir was the biggest and best yet. Over 175 students from all the Trust schools came together to celebrate, have fun and enjoy two evenings of singing to packed audiences. It was fantastic to see children from as young as eight all the way up to seventeen (in our sixth form) performing together.
The show started with the whole Trust Choir assembling on a specially built stage to perform ‘Proud’. Each school then performed two songs that had been specially prepared for the evening. The students had worked really hard on their choreography as well as their songs and playing the air guitar seemed to be popular!

The event had an Olympic theme this year and the second full Trust choir song ’Shine’ was taken from the opening ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympic games. All the schools were winners at this event each receiving a framed photograph of the choir to display in their school. Money raised will go to support projects to boost literacy and numeracy within our community.
Steve Roberts ( from BBC`s ‘Sing Live’ fame) did a great job in conducting the choir again this year and commented “I believe the choir is a strong symbol of community for the Trust and I hope that it continues to grow and improve as it develops and takes shape”. He is already planning and working on making next years event even better.
Thank you to all the students, staff, parents and businesses that supported the event this year.
