‘ As old as the pyramids and as new as yesterday ‘

History is the study of past events, peoples and cultures. Students develop the skills of problem solving, interpretation and analysis.

The study units are organised chronologically from the Norman Conquest to the present day and cover key aspects of National, European and World history.

History will give students valuable skills and knowledge which will help them in most future careers and in Higher education.

History events include the Year 9 Belgium Battlefields trip, a Y12 University visit and the Y7 Castleton Trip. These trips are very popular allowing students to learn outside the classroom environment enhancing their experience and education.
