National Cup R7 Y10 vs English Martyrs

In the Last 16 of the National Cup, Meadowhead’s Y10s were hoping to reach the quarter finals as they hosted ‘English Martyrs’ from Hartlepool. The game began scrappily and neither team had many attempts on goal but on the stroke of half time, Louis Hutchinson burst down the wing and he pulled a perfect pass back for Harry Grimmer to guide into the bottom right corner.

At half time, Meadowhead knew that there was room for improvement after a quiet first half and they began to pile on the pressure early in the second half. The second goal came after another cross from Louis Hutchinson and Caelen Zane Bradley was there to convert from close range.

The visitors then began to pile on some pressure of their own and went close to pulling a goal back if it wasn’t for a fantastic reaction save from Ted Claxton with his feet.

As the game wore on and as it became inevitable that Meadowhead would be reaching the quarter finals, Ben Hulton clipped a lofted pass over the top for Caelen Bradley to chase on to and beat the goalkeeper at the one-on-one to secure a very convincing win for Meadowhead, and keep up their 100% winning record so far this season.
