Y7 students were introduced to the fun and fascinating practical applications of Maths within BAE Systems, the RAF and the Royal Navy on Monday 12th February 2018.

The presentation included the most up to date technologies to demonstrate the importance of Maths in the future of Engineering – the amazing robot MIA showed off her mathematical genius with some dance moves and students were invited to participate in the demonstrations. There were plenty of volunteers keen to help out with the Great Drainpipe Challenge and the Paramotor demonstration!

 

The presenters helped bring maths to life with the maths used in magic card tricks, the maths hidden inside the Simpsons cartoons and the maths needed to balance an aircraft carrier - a great way to demystify the subject!
