Science and Technology Challenge Day 2019
This took place at Sheffield Hallam University on Monday 1st July and gave a group of our Y8s an insight into STEM at higher level. Activities included robotics, e-fit technology and medical diagnostics.
Throughout the day students worked in mixed school teams, developing their interpersonal relationships and team building skills - imperative for studying a STEM subject at a higher level.
A thoroughly enjoyable and educational event!

• Robotics – Students built and programmed a robot to navigate a series of obstacles
• E-FIT – They used police software to create an image of a ‘criminal’
• Medical Diagnostics – Students were tasked with diagnosing a ‘patient’ and also testing for diabetes.
Throughout the day a group of our Y8s worked in mixed school teams - this was great experience and encouraged them to develop their interpersonal relationships and team building skills, which are imperative for studying a STEM subject at a higher level.
