Thanks to Meadowhead School’s successful ERASMUS+ “work experience abroad” bid (CEWE), we welcomed the first group of post-16 students from Spain in March 2015.

The students, who were staying in host families, completed 5 days of work experience in some of our Trust businesses and enjoyed experiencing not only the varied working life in England but also exploring Sheffield and the Peak District, visiting York and practising their English skills during a theatre visit.

Many thanks go to our Trust business partners, who welcomed and looked after the students very warmly. The Spanish students were able to experience the teaching in Primary Schools (Bradway, Abbey Lane and Greenhill), get to know the routines at the Double Tree Hilton and get practical at Cathelco Seafresh.

All students had a fantastic time and benefited from this project linguistically as well as culturally and were excited about welcoming the English students in Spain in return.
