Types of Covid Lateral Flow Tests

May we remind our students that they should be continuing to use the Lateral Flow Devices for regular non-symptomatic testing.

Our students will be given one of three types as we use up current stock and are delivered new ones. We have put together some instructions for each of them here. 

Types of Covid Lateral Flow Tests

Sanitise, blow nose, prepare area.

Empty all liquid in the sachet.

Swab throat (4 times) and nose (10 circles).

Put swab in tube and leave for 15 seconds.

Pinch swab in tube whilst removing to extract all liquid. Add cap to tube.

Squeeze 2 drops of liquid onto test strip. Wait 30 minutes to read result.

 

Sanitise, blow nose, prepare area.

Swab nose (5 circles in each nostril).

Put swab in  tube and rotate in liquid for 30 seconds.

Pinch swab in tube and rotate 5 times, then pinch whilst removing to extract all liquid. Add cap to tube.

Squeeze 4 drops of liquid onto test strip. Wait 15 minutes to read result.

Sanitise, blow nose, prepare area

Swab nose (5 circles in each nostril)

Put swab in tube, push tip of swab to the side of the tube and rotate in liquid at least 6 times

Leave the swab in the tube for 1 minute

Remove swab, then

Pinch swab in tube and rotate 5 times, then pinch whilst removing to extract all liquid. Add cap to tube.

Squeeze 4 drops of liquid onto test strip. Wait 15 minutes to read result
