Y6/7 Transition and Summer School

As with so much last year due to the pandemic, our Y6 to Y7 Transition was a little different. We were very fortunate to be able to go ahead and welcome Y6 students into school during the first week of the summer holidays to familiarise themselves with the building, meet lots of their new teachers, enjoy activities and make new friends. Although we had to manage this in a different way from usual, we believe that this went a long way to help their successful start at Meadowhead in September as Y7s.

We will share our plans for this summer (June/July 2021) as soon as they are confirmed.

"As a parent of children who are currently in Y7 and Y8, Meadowhead School have handled the Y6/Y7 transition incredibly well.

The provision of online parent information and interactive videos were extremely useful and the summer school provided a great opportunity for the children to experience their new surroundings first hand. Communication between the school, parent and pupils has been excellent especially given the new ways of working due to COVID-19. This has contributed to a smooth transition from primary to secondary in 2020 and my children have settled extremely well in to life at Meadowhead School. They have been given all the support they need in terms of learning and most importantly they are enjoying their time there."
